A little bit about me....
My name is Sophia Burdett. I’m a UI/UX designer with a background in illustration. I live in NYC with my two bunnies Pudding and Taro. I initially became interested in design after studying product and transportation design in high school. In college I studied Illustration but after graduation I pivoted back towards design. I now combine both my passions for design and illustration to create user-centric designs that seamlessly integrate functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Painting
Painting is one of my favorite pastimes. In particular, I enjoy painting landscapes, animals, plants, and bugs. The most favorite medium of mine is gouache, however I also enjoy watercolor, oil, acrylic, and digital media.
Reading
Learning new things has always been a passion of mine. Whenever I want to learn more about something or find inspiration, I reach for a book. At the moment, I enjoy reading mysteries, thrillers, fantasy, design, and psychology. Currently, I am reading Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking.
Collecting
Whether it’s rocks, plants, coins, antiques, butterflies- you name it, I’ve probably collected it. If I ever pass by an antique or thrift store, I always have to go and see what treasures I can find.
Learning languages
“Everyone should learn at least one language in their lifetime.” My Portuguese grandmother used to say that. She can speak seven languages. Someday I’d like to be like her but for now I mostly speak Japanese, Spanish, and some Chinese. In the future I’d like to learn French, Korean, and Italian too.
Eating sushi
Maybe its an obsession? or perhaps an addiction? If i’m not eating sushi, I’m thinking about eating it. Ever since I was a child my favorite food was raw tuna and it still is.
